Republic of Ireland Czech Republic Odds : James McClean to star for Trapattoni

Republic of Ireland fans will get the chance to see their side ahead of the Euro 2012 Championships on Wednesday for just €10.

The FA of Ireland are hoping to get as many fans as possible to attend their game against the Czech Republic at the Aviva Stadium by selling the tickets at a discounted price.

On the field, Giovanni Trapattoni’s men will be playing their first game since securing their qualification to the championships last year.

It will be the ideal opportunity to prove that they are able to mix it with the top teams in Europe, with the Czech Republic likely to be tough opponents.

The game will be Ireland’s penultimate game at the Aviva Stadium before they head to Poland and Ukraine this summer.

Ireland have included Sunderland youngester James McClean in their squad for the game, with the direct running winger likely to feature in the game.

Trapattoni will no doubt be looking to see who of his squad are in the best form over the next few games as he prepares to name his squad for the tournament.

The Italian has insisted that the inclusion of McClean in his squad will be ideal chance for the Derry-born player to get a feel of the international set up.

He said: “Marco (Tardelli, assistant manager) and I have decided to call up James and Paul (Green) to take a closer look at them during training

“Paul is returning from injury, and James is performing very well for his club. We have invited them in for this game to spend time with the squad and get an idea of the team set-up.”

Following this game, Ireland’s next friendly will be against Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Aviva Stadium, before they travel to play Hungary in June.
