The former defender is confident that his old teammates have enough about themselves in order to finish in the top three this season
After a miserable 2013/14 campaign which saw The Red Devils finish a lowly seventh in the Premier League, Rio Ferdinand departed for Queens Park Rangers where he is currently involved in a relegation battle that is definitely going down the wire.
And despite not being able to report to the Carrington training base anymore, the former England international keeps tabs on his former club and has been glad to see the team shake off numerous injury issues and rise to third place in the league standings.
While talking to reporters, Ferdinand said that he is confident of his old team’s chances of a top three finish by the end of the campaign and further added that the team could even win the FA Cup this time around.
“Looking at them now, I think they’ll finish definitely in third place, definite Champions League, then maybe they’ll get one of the cups.
Moreover, Ferdinand also feels that it won’t be surprising if United mount a late assault on the Premier League title which is currently being contested between Chelsea and Manchester City.
