Robbie Keane rules out permanent return

Aston Villa loanee Robbie Keane has insisted that he has no intention of returning to the Premier League on a permanent basis.

The former Tottenham striker recently joined Villa on a short-term deal from MLS champions Los Angeles Galaxy.

The Ireland international only left White Hart Lane last summer, but made his return in Villa’s 1-1 draw with Everton on Saturday. Meanwhile he is adamant that he is happy with life in America and has no plans to make a return to England.

“Come back permanently? No. I am quite happy in the MLS,” he told the Sunday Mirror.

“I have really enjoyed the three months I have had there so far. It is a great lifestyle out there for the family.

Keane went on to say; “It’s nice to have the opportunity to come back for a couple of months, but when that ends I am looking forward to getting back with the Galaxy.

“I was having the time off that I wanted, but then I got some phone calls and when one of them was from Villa it was a club I felt immediately I would be comfortable with, because of the people I already know there.”
