Roma centre-back Philippe Mexes has put an end to any speculation linking him with a move to the Premiership with both Chelsea and Arsenal believed to have been interested.
The 29 year old comes to the end of his Roma contract in the summer and it was thought that either London club may have signed the experienced Frenchman on a free in June.
The defender recently quoted that whilst he loves Rome, his future lies elsewhere.
“I don’t think I will be staying at Roma, I will be going elsewhere. AC Milan? There has been a lot of talk about such a move and I will probably go there.”
Discussions have surfaced for a while now that AC Milan were in pole to land Mexes and should he feel it is the right choice of club then there will be little chance of seeing Mexes in the Premiership next season.
