Roma prepare move for Manchester United duo

Berbatov is still wanted by a few European teamsItalian Serie A side Roma are readying themselves to be knocked back by Manchester United for at least one of their proposed transfer targets.

Roma are currently interested in both Nani and Dimitar berbatov of Manchester United as they begin to try and make headway both domestically and in Europe.

It is believed that Nani was made available for the right price last season with Juventus having made enquiries for the Portuguese star but the 24 year old decided against a move in favour of remaining with the Old Trafford side. The beginning of the season has seen his decision to be a wise choice for the player where he has been pivotal in keeping United within striking distance of Manchester City.

Whether Nani will be made available again during the summer is a big question, especially with Juventus now keeping an eye on Valencia too.

Berbatov on the other hand appears to be a player surplus to requirements with Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson currently keen to stick with his young guns for most games including that of Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez.

With Berbatov perhaps entering the latter of his career he is unlikely to be sold for the same sort of fee that United paid Tottenham but Nani on the other hand could fetch the side at least £25m given his good form in the early part of the season.

Although it is very unlikely that Manchester United would accept any bids for Nani at any stage soon, and with it likely that he would prefer a move to Spain at some stage in his career, Roma will no doubt be knocked back in their approach but the noises they are looking to make will certainly not go un-noticed.
