Roman Pavlyuchenko reveals transfer desire

Tottenham striker, Roman Pavlyuchenko, says that he would go for a January departure from White Hart Lane if he does not play a bigger role for the club in coming months.

The Russian international came to the club in 2008 but has seen his appearances slowly diminish since then, and loan signing Emmanuel Adebayor is providing stiff competition.

The 29 year-old is also competing with Jermain Defoe for a starting spot, as well as Rafael van der Vaart who has voiced his need to play in a more central position.

Peter Crouch and Robbie Keane both parted with the club in the summer, and Pavlyuchenko could be next to leave the North London outfit.

Speaking to The Sun on the matter, the Russian said: “I do not have much playing practice at Tottenham, although I am in very good physical shape. I very much want to play football. That’s why I need to start thinking now about moving clubs in the winter.”

He went on to say: “I love Tottenham. The team is like my second family. But if nothing changes I will agree to any loan deal. In fact, to any deal which gives me the chance to play permanently.”
