Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala are ready to raid the Premiership as early as January once the transfer window opens and will look to tempt both Chelsea’s Didier Drogba and Manchester United’s Dimitar Berbatov into multi-million pound moves.
The mega rich side have already made their mark on World football when last summer they snapped up Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto’o on a deal that would be considered as a retirement package.
Didier Drogba has looked to be a player on the move for some time, especially since he has not yet been able to agree a new extension with Chelsea and current manager Andre Villas Boas appearing to prefer Spaniard Fernando Torres as the main man up front.
Berbatov on the other hand has a contact until the end of the season and has not been offered a new deal to date. Manchester United are believed to prefer to cash in on the Bulgarian in January having paid close to £30m for his services from Tottenham Hotspur at the time.
Anzhi will face competition though with Valencia believed to be keen on Berbatov whilst Marseille are thought to be keen on having Drogba rejoin them.
