Mamadou Sakho has laid out dual ambitions for himself and Liverpool in 2015 following his recent return to Brendan Rodgers’ three-man backline.
The French centre half was brought into the Reds’ starting XI for the visit of Arsenal after being deployed for the second half of the victory at Bournemouth.
He retained his spot in the defence of Rodgers’ 3-4-3 formation for the back-to-back Premier League wins against Burnley and Swansea City too.
Sakho therefore approached an interview with media in a positive humour, speaking in English, which he has been studying since joining the club in the summer of 2013.
When asked that six points from the last two fixtures, now have the Reds moving up the league standings, while a Capital One Cup semi-final plus FA Cup and Europa League assignments can be anticipated.
He replied that his side will look a different side in coming year and they will carry confidence gained from recent wins.
“I hope we will play even better and we can win a competition, and qualify for the Champions League”said Sakho. “We have got lots of big players and lots of young players. We have to focus on those objectives” he added.
