Sam Allardyce expecting tough match against Ipswich Town

Allardyce may make changes to his first eleven for their match against Ipswich TownWest Ham United manager Sam Allardyce is expecting a tough game against Ipswich Town on Tuesday evening adding that both sides have plenty of Premier League experience.

Should West Ham win or draw on Tuesday evening it will mean the East London side going eight games unbeaten with Allardyce’s side now firm favourites to win the Championship despite their indifferent start to the new campaign.

Talking to West Ham’s official club website Allardyce had praise for the work Ipswich manager Paul Jewell had done so far and that he was expecting a battle, hoping his side would be taking their chances.

“Paul Jewell has a lot of Premier League experience in the team like I have. He has got Keith Andrews, who I had at Blackburn, and is an excellent player and has scored some real good goals for them.”

The West Ham manager continued:

“He has got Jimmy Bullard, Michael Chopra, quite a few players with Premier League experience in there. They play a similar way to Peterborough so again it will be about nullifying their strengths and exposing their weaknesses. We have to make sure we take more of our chances though.”

Allardyce also admits that he may have to mix the side up a bit, something he is not keen on doing with the side playing the way they are however with two matches in four days he admits something will need tweaking.

“It is a difficult thing to change when you are winning games of football but it is one I have got to have a serious look at and see if I can make the team that bit better by making a change. I will be sticking my neck on the line because i am sure if I get it wrong the fans will let me know!”
