Samuel Eto’o Set to Complete Shock Move

Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala have announced that they have agreed a deal to bring Samuel Eto’o to the Russian league from Inter Milan.

“Today an agreement was reached between the football clubs, Anzhi and Inter, for the transfer of Samuel Eto’o,” read a statement on Anzhi’s website.
“The terms of the transfer are completely agreed on both sides.”

The deal is still subject to a medical, which once the Cameroonian completes, will seal a three-year deal for a transfer fee of around €27m. Once complete, Eto’o will become the world’s highest paid player.

Speculation of the move had been highlighted by a tribute made by a former team mate of Eto’o; midfielder Estaban Cambiasso.

“He’s a player who has helped us a lot in the last couple of years,” the veteran Argentina midfielder said on Sunday.
“His transfer hasn’t been made official yet but in Inter’s history there have been lots of great champions who have moved on to other things and afterwards Inter was still Inter – that’s all that matters.”

The forward is expected to sign a three-year contract worth €20m per season, surpassing all of the world’s top players, including: Lionel Messi at Barcelona and Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid.
