Manchester United could still be in the game where the signing of Germany’s number one goalkeeper is concerned after it was revealed today that Bayern and Schalke have so far failed to agree a fee.
Manchester United are still on the look out for a long term replacement for Edwin van der Saar who is in his last season for the Old Trafford club and Schalke’s Neuer was very impressive during the Champions League semi final first leg.
With Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge stating the following regarding Neuer, a move to United for the Germany international could still be on the cards.
“I don’t really think we are going to find a quick agreement and I am also not convinced that Bayern and Schalke will find a price which suits them both. We will have to wait and see, the transfer window is still open for four more months.”
