Schalke Wolfsburg Odds : Live Streaming Available from Veltins Arena

Schalke 04 will be looking to get their title challenge back on track this weekend when they host mid-table Wolfsburg on Sunday afternoon.

Horst Heldt’s men are five points from 1st place at the moment as they sit in 4th position, but they will still have genuine title ambitions this year. They do need to pick up regular victories though as any slip up is punished in the Bundesliga this season.

Their recent form hasn’t been that of potential Champions either. A disappointing draw at home to Mainz 5 was followed by a 3-0 hammering at title rivals Borussia Mönchengladbach and they need to get back on track this weekend.

Looking at their home form this season, it has been very good indeed, so they will be pleased to be in front of their own fans on Sunday. They average 2.73 goals at home compared to 1.60 away, so they are more of an attacking threat in Gelsenkirchen.

As for Wolfsburg, they are 8th in the Bundesliga going into this weekend and they will want a positive run of results in the next few weeks as they look to challenge for European football.

They are four points away from the final Europa League place at the moment, so they cannot afford too many poor results. They will know how valuable a win at Schalke will be though. Their rivals in the league will not be expecting them to get anything this weekend.

Wolfsburg have been far too inconsistent of late though – their last three Bundesliga games have been a defeat, a draw and a victory – and they need to string an unbeaten run together.

Referring specifically to their away form, they have struggled to say the least with just one win on the road this season. They have also only managed nine goals in 10 away games, conceding 27 times. Only bottom of the table Freiburg have conceded more away from home in the league.

Overall, title chasing Schalke will the favourites for the victory from 2.30pm on Sunday, but Wolfsburg will hope they have a rare positive day away from home to boost their chances of a top six finish.
