Scunthorpe manager asks fans to trust Ajose
Scunthorpe boss Alan Knill has asked fans to be patient with Nicky Ajose, and has reassured them that he will live up to their expectations this season. Ajose is currently on a three-month loan from Championship club Peterborough, and impressed Knill during their time together at Bury last season, as he believes the forward always shows great determination.
He scored 13 goals in 28 league appearances last season for the Shakers, however has been unable to resurrect the same form this time around.
Meanwhile Knill believes that perhaps he put too much pressure on Ajose, as he promised the fans a lot when the player was brought to the club.
“Maybe it’s a little bit of our fault,” Knill told the club’s official website. “We built him up to the fans when we first brought him to the club.
“But we, more than anything, know what he is capable of.
“It’s a case of trying to find a solution to his loss of form, because inevitably as a striker he will go through another barren run in his career.”
