There are two matches on Saturday evening and the first of them sees Lazio host Chievo. The home side can move to within just two points of league-leaders Juventus if they claim all three points and in truth, it should be a straight forward victory for them as Chievo sit in mid-table and haven’t won their last two.
Lazio’s four-game winning streak came to an end last time out, so it will be interesting to see if they can claim maximum points here.
Then, Juventus can restore their healthy lead at the top of the table with a win at home to Genoa. These two certainly have different ambitions for the campaign, with Genoa looking to stay in the league and Juve desperate to win in.
The visiting team have lost their last two as well, so could be heading to Turin at a bad time.
The remaining matches take place on Sunday and the early kick-off sees Bologna and Roma lock horns. The latter are in need of a win as they haven’t tasted victory for three matches now.
Roma’s Champions League hopes are fading as they sit ten points adrift of third, which makes this a massive game for them.
Catania have moved up into eighth place after notching up back-to-back wins and they entertain Fiorentina this weekend in what should be a cracking 90 minutes of action.
Fiorentina have dropped down to fifth and need all three points here to ensure they stay in a European spot.
AC Milan haven’t lost in three Serie A matches now, so are showing some long overdue consistency. Their recent form has moved them into the top six and they head to Atalanta on Sunday full of confidence.
Sampdoria and Pescara then meet in a six-pointer at the bottom of the table. These two sit in 15th and 16th receptively and are separated by just one point, which makes this one of the biggest games of the weekend.
Cagliari and Palermo also go head-to-head in a battle between 17th and 19th, so it is another huge game at the bottom of the table.
Napoli are on their travels this weekend as they make the journey to Parma in what will be a tough test for the side in second place as Parma haven’t lost in five matches now. Napoli are on a four-game unbeaten run though, so are in good form themselves, which makes this a cracking looking fixture.
Bottom of the table Siena finally won for the first time in eight matches last time out, which has given them hope of beating the drop. They head to Udinese this time out knowing that another result is needed.
Finally, Inter Milan need to claim all three points at home to Torino in order to keep the pressure on the teams in the top three. Torino will head to the San Siro full of confidence though after winning their last two, so Inter must be at their best.
It should be a fitting way to round-off another enthralling couple of days in Serie A.
