Milan also come into this one the back of a win over Juventus, so confidence will be high and they know another victory is needed to try and kick-start their campaign.

There is just the one match on Saturday as well as league-leaders Juventus host a Torino side sitting in 14th place at the moment. After going so long unbeaten in Serie A, Juve have now lost two out of their last four and seen the gap between them and the rest of the chasing pack close – so a victory is a must on Saturday evening.

The Bianconeri succumbed to a solitary Robinho penalty as they saw their lead squandered at the top as Antonio Conte will look to get his team back to winning ways against a side which has has only one win in their last eight.

Sunday is the busy day in the Italian top flight and the early encounter sees Napoli take on Pescara. The home side can move level with Juventus if they drop points on Friday evening, so the incentive to grab the points is certainly there.

Walter Mazzarri’s side should have enough to beat a struggling Pescara side which is rooted to the basement of the table, as his side remain undefeated at Stadio San Paolo this season.

Moving onto the afternoon, Chievo travel to Genoa in a real crunch match at the bottom of the table, whilst Bologna take on Atalanta.

Siena’s four game unbeaten run has lifted them off the bottom, but they know they face a tough 90 minutes at home to Roma.

Udinese and Cagliari also lock horns and Lazio v Parma is a battle between fifth and seventh, so it should be a cracker.

Inter Milan are now without a win in three encounters and that has seen them drop down to fourth in the table. Nothing other than all three points will do against Palermo, who hover just above the drop zone.

The evening game on Sunday sees Fiorentina take on Sampdoria. Fiorentina know that they could be out of the top four come kick-off, so need to take the spoils at home to their opponents, who sit in mid-table.

It should be a superb weekend of action in Serie A.
