The first round of Serie A fixtures take place this weekend and this season, we are all set for a cracker.

There are two games on Saturday and the first of them sees newly-promoted Verona take on AC Milan.

Milan have plenty of quality in their squad and Mario Balotelli is sure to be looking forward to a full season in Serie A. Balotelli is at 15/4 to score the first goal here and that could prove to be good value.
The visiting side know they have to pile the pressure on Juve straight away to mount a challenge for the title and they should have enough to take this match.
However, Verona will be full of confidence after their promotion and although this is a tough encounter, there is no doubt they are going to back themselves to take the spoils.
After this one, the Champions – Juventus – are in action as they head to Sampdoria and with strikers Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente added to the squad, the away side are going to be in great spirits and should take the spoils.
A bet on Juve gives you odds of 4/7 here, so they are the favourites to come out on top and although Sampdoria are at home, this is going to be an extremely difficult opener for them.
Saturday evening should be a cracker in Serie A.
Moving onto Sunday, Inter Milan play their first game of the campaign at home to Genoa.
Last season was one to forget for the Italian giants and they know a good start is vital this time out. They entertain a Genoa side that were involved in a relegation battle last time out and at 7/10, you have to say Inter are the best bet here, even if they are short in terms of odds.
On Sunday evening, many will be looking forward to seeing Napoli in action as they now have Rafael Benitez in charge and have signed some quality in the summer window – most notably Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid. Napoli entertain Bologna on the opening weekend.
Higuain is at 10/3 to break the deadlock and if at his best here, the home side are sure to come out on top as they have plenty of talent in their squad.
Elsewhere, Cagliari and Atalanta lock horns, Livorno entertain Roma, Parma and Chievo go head-to-head and Torino take on Sassuolo.
Lazio v Udinese could be one of the pick of the fixtures on the opening weekend as both will be looking to finish in the top three this campaign and a victory here would give them plenty of confidence.
In truth, the draw might be a good bet here at 5/2.
The final game of the weekend comes on Monday evening as Fiorentina take on Catania and it should be a cracking way to round off the opening few days of Serie A action.
