Serie A side Udinese have confirmed that an offer of €35m has been turned down for their Chilean trickster Alexis Sanchez.
The 22 year old has been under the radar of most top European clubs this season with a reported “secret bid” rumoured to be that of Liverpool. However, the club president, Giampolo Pozzo has claimed that Sanchez is worth as much as Lionel Messi suggesting he and the club will be looking for much more.
Of course there could be no offer on the table and his comments perhaps used to hike up the bidding price but with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool FC all linked over the last few months it would be no surprise to see the Chilean winger at one of them next season.
Italian side Inter Milan are also know to be interested but Pozzo has claimed he will not release the name of the club out of respect.
“As far as I am concerned, Sanchez is worth as much as Leo Messi, but admittedly I’m not objective, he’s one of only two or three players born in every generation.”
Pozzo continued.
“We have received an offer of €35m that we rejected. I do not want to name the club, out of respect. Sanchez is very young and we’d like him to stay for another year, plus we believe he’s worth more than €35m.”
Whilst €35m is not out of the question for either of these clubs, Chelsea may also feel the youngster has something to offer and it shall remain to be seen which of the Premiership’s top clubs decide on paying out the most for Sanchez.
