Sheffield United Chief insists “goals must be shared”

After a dismal last season for Sheffield United, Danny Wilson has stated that the team mustn’t rely so heavily on their strikers doing all the scoring.

The club – which averaged less than a goal per game last season – were relegated to League One at the end of the last campaign, and manager Wilson believes spreading the goals throughout the squad is the key to future success.

“Fans will always like attacking, exciting players. They’ll always want someone who can bag in 30 goals a season and, believe me, managers are no different,”

“The more you can spread them (goals) around the better. The more threats you can get across the pitch the harder it is for other teams to combat them.”
