Certain websites are suggesting that long term Arsenal target Keisuke Honda is on his way to North London today to partake in a medical and to discuss personal terms.
The Japanese international is held in very high regard by Arsene Wenger and reports had suggested that Arsenal were keen on the 25 year old at the beginning of the summer. With nothing at that time materialising it was believed that Wenger may have missed out however rumours that the side have agreed terms with CSKA Moscow are building fast.
His value at the start of the summer was believed to be around £10m-£15m however at such a late stage in the transfer window it is likely that his fee will have increased to around £18m plus.
Since 1400hrs GMT the player’s agent had the following to say:
“Is it reported that Keisuke is in London? This is not true,” Kees Ploegsma told Sovetsky Sport. He’s in Japan with his national team. He won’t sign anywhere, it’s sure that he stays at CSKA.”
