It has been confirmed that Manchester United will hand French starlet, Paul Pogba, his senior debut tonight in a Carling Cup clash against Leeds United.
Pogba joined the Red Devils in a controversial transfer from French side, Le Havre, after United were accused of ‘tapping up’ the then-16 year-old.
However the 18 year-old is now making headlines as he prepares for his chance to become a superstar and follow in the footsteps of Chris Smalling, Danny Welbeck and Phil Jones as a youth playing for the Premier League champions.
The Scot stated: “He’s got a slight injury, it’s not too bad, though. So he wasn’t available for Sunday but he should be able to play on Tuesday.”
He went on to say: “We prefer to keep him with us until we find he’s mature enough to possibly go on loan. Maybe next year that could be an option but we’re definitely expecting him this season to stay with Manchester United.”
