Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has provided some good news for fans ahead of their final Premiership match versus Blackpool this weekend by stating that it is likely midfielder Paul Scholes will stay for another year.
The 36 year old started his Manchester United career in the youth set up in 1991 and has since been a key member of Ferguson’s team, however his age has become a factor in recent seasons with many suggesting the “ginger ninja” would be set to retire at the end of the season.
Sir Alex however believes the tenacious midfielder will stay next season.
“I don’t think this will be his last game, we have discussed it and I have encouraged him to stay on for another year.
Sir Alex added.
“We’ll talk at the end of the season.”
