came from a set down to beat Richard Gasquet, whereas Ferrer had to do the same thing against Tommy Haas.

The Scotsman showed his class in the next two sets of his match though as he won 6-1 6-2 and unsurprisingly, he is the favourite to win this one at 3/10.

If Murray performs how we know he can in this final, he should be coming out on top here. Under coach Ivan Lendl, the British number-one has shown a different side to his game and instead of struggling in these big finals, seems to relish the chance to lift a trophy.

He knows that Ferrer is a world class player on his day, but the US Open Champions has to focus on his own performance here.

Although he was able to get away with losing the first set against Gasquet, Murray knows he cannot afford to do the same this time out.

If he gets a quick start, then the world number-three is likely to have the crowd on his side and as ever, his serve is vital in this final.

Not many will be expecting Murray to lose this one, but he has to play his best tennis in order to come out on top.

As for Ferrer, he does come into this final with the pressure somewhat off him as he is the underdog at 11/4 to claim the title.

He is currently ranked number-five in the world, so it isn’t exactly a surprise that he managed to reach this stage of the compeition.

However, this match against Murray is going to be extremely tough for the 30-year-old as he is taking on a player at the top of his game.

When these two have met in the past, Murray has managed six wins and Ferrer has come out on top on five occasions, so there isn’t a great deal to choose between them.

The Scot has been victorious in three of the four meetings on this surface as well, so he does have the knowhow over his opponent. Also, the Wimbledon runner-up lost in the final here last year to Novak Djokovic, so will be desperate to get his hands on the prize on Sunday.

With the tennis these two have played in Miami so far, it is difficult to see anything other than a cracking tie here and with a big crowd expected, we should see a superb spectacle.

There are also valuable ATP World Tour points up for grabs here, so both men should put in a big performance and look to win this Sony Open in Miami.

Bring on the action in this eagerly anticipated final.
