Reports have suggested that Spanish club Sevilla have made an enquiry about Fulham midfielder Clint Dempsey. Boss Martin Jol is set to have a fight on his hands to keep the American as Paris St Germain and Aston Villa have also been linked with a move for the player ahead of Wednesday’s transfer deadline.
The 28-year-old, who scored a consolation in Fulham’s defeat at Newcastle on Sunday, joined Fulham in 2006 and has improved every season; however the opportunity to play at a higher level is set to attract him away from Craven Cottage.
Despite already being knocked out of Europe this season whilst Fulham qualified for the group stages of the Europa League, the challenge of playing in La Liga with Sevilla could tempt Dempsey.
It is thought that Fulham value the creative midfielder at £8million and Jol is unlikely to part with the player for anything less than their desired fee.
