Spurs closing on on Loic Remy deal – Thursday’s Rumour Round-up

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is expected to fly into France to try and sign Marseille striker Loic Remy. After selling Luka Modric to Real Madrid for £33 million this week Spurs have money to spend in the final 48 hours of the transfer window and have made their move for long-term target Remy. The 25-year-old France international has previously been linked with Arsenal and Newcastle United but could be set for a move to White Hart Lane before Friday’s deadline. Sporting Life

Porto turn down €50m Hulk bid – Chelsea have reportedly had a €50 million bid for Brazilian striker Hulk turned down by Porto. The Champions League holders are desperate to boost their attack before the transfer deadline and have been trailing the 25-year-old for much of the summer. Swansea agree Hernandez deal – Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has moved quickly to replace Scott Sinclair at the Liberty Stadium with a move for Valencia winger Pablo Hernandez. Sinclair’s£8 million move to Manchester City is back on after the two clubs agreed a fee and Laudrup has wasted no time in reinvesting the money by agreed a fee with the Spanish club for Hernandez that will match the club record £5.5m spent on Ki Sung-Yeung last weekend. QPR chasing Wolfsburg defender – Queens Park Rangers are hoping to sign Wolfsburg defender Simon Kjaer before Friday’s transfer deadline as efforts continue to strengthen the clubs defensive options. R’s boss Mark Hughes is desperate to sign a centre back after seeing his side concede six goals in their opening two games and has been heavily linked with Tottenham’s Michael Dawson. It’s now emerged that he is now chasing a deal for 23-year-old Denmark international Kjaer after he was frozen out at the German club and spent last season on loan at Roma. Sky Sports

Lambert still wants two more strikers – Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert hopes to sign two strikers after bolstering his defence with the signing of Joe Bennet from Middlesbrough on Wednesday.
