News has recently emerged that Tottenham could be close to securing a deal to bring Louis Saha to White Hart Lane, with reports gaining momentum.
That being said, the move is suspected to hinge on the club being able to shift Roman Pavlyuchenko off of their wage bill first.
Pavlyuchenko has been linked with a move away from North London for months now and after reports claimed that the forward had a training pitch bust-up with assistant coach Kevin Bond, a transfer could soon follow.
Saha has made 16 starts for the Toffees this season but hasn’t ben in his most prolific scoring form with only two goals to his name this campaign.
The 33 year-old is out of contract in the summer so if Spurs do take his services on a temporary deal, they will most likely be expected to pay 100% of his wages, with David Moyes unlikely to finance a player who isn’t at his disposal.
The news comes after it became apparent that Nikica Jelavic was undergoing a medical at Goodison Park, meaning first team opportunities would certainly be harder to come by for Saha.
The Frenchman holds nothing if not Premier League experience, racking up 393 appearances in England since moving on loan to Newcastle way back in 1999.
Saha has also scored 144 goals in that period of time, presenting a decent goal ratio for Spurs to acquire and when handed stronger supply, the forward may thrive once again.
