The Ewood Park departure of Junior Hoilett is looking more assured by the day as Tottenham Hotspur are now reported to be reviving interest in the Blackburn winger.
The 20 year-old has impressed over the past two seasons but after a recent surge in performance, teams are again looking at the starlet.
Hoilett will be a free agent in the summer when his contract expires and clubs are permitted to approach any player in the last six months of their current deal.
Bayern Munich were once such club thought to be monitoring Hoilett’s situation in Lancashire but after tying up the signature of Xherdan Shaqiri, the German outfit may not hold as much interest in Hoilett.
That being said, Arsenal and Liverpool are just two sides maintaining their interest in the Canadian and will undoubtedly pose considerable competition for the cut-price agent at the end of the season.
Hoilett has made 26 starts for Rovers this campaign, scoring on six occasions and making seven assists in the process.
The youngster has refused to sign an extension with Blackburn so far and won’t be expected to do so in the next four months, opening the door for other teams to come calling.
Tottenham have several players rumoured to be leaving White Hart Lane in the summer including Steven Pienaar, David Bentley and Giovani Dos Santos, leaving room on the wings for Hoilett to be drafted in.
Although Spurs have stated their intentions to spend bigger in the coming transfer windows, the bargain deal for Hoilett would still be a valuable asset for the North London side and with a shortage of wide cover, seem likely to make their move in July.
