Spurs willing to drop Modric demands to secure Sahin signing

Tottenham Hotspur will allow Luka Modric to join Real Madrid for £30 million provided Nuri Sahin is included in the deal according to a close Footy Bunker source.

Spurs have forced Modric to train alone after hitting him with a fine for going AWOL in an apparent attempt to force through a move to the Spanish champions.

Chairman Daniel Levy has so far resisted any overtures from Madrid and has displayed an unwillingness to accept offers below his £40 million asking price.

New boss Andre Villas-Boas has also stated that the club won’t let the Croatian midfielder leave White Hart Lane until his valuation is met.

Villas-Boas said: “Until we receive a suitable offer for the player, he will not go.

“The contacts we have had with other clubs have not met with what Tottenham wants for the player.

“We respect the size of Madrid and the other interested clubs, but they must respect what we are doing too.”

It’s now emerged that the North London club are ready to drop their demands and accept £30m an offer of from Madrid on the condition that Sahin moves the other way.

The Turkey international was touted as a possible makeweight in July but scoffed at the idea of joining Spurs despite struggling to secure first team football at the Santiago Bernabeu making just 10 appearances in all competitions last season.
His path towards a spot in Jose Mourinho’s starting XI will be blocked further by Modric and will reportedly agree to leaving on a season-long loan just a year after signing from Borussia Dortmund for £8m.

Spurs are only interested in a permanent deal for 23-year-old who has been hotly tipped to join capital rivals Arsenal but Villas-Boas wants him to forge a new midfield triumvirate with Scott Parker and new recruit Gylfi Sigurdsson.
