The St Leger Stakes acts as the third leg of the Triple Crown of course, following the 1,000 Guineas and Epsom Oaks. Camelot secured victories at both of these and now the Triple Crown glory is in sight.

Considering the fact that the St Leger hasn’t featured a Triple Crown contender for many years and the last time a horse won all three in the same year was in 1972, it makes this weekend extra special.
With Joseph O’Brien – trainer Aiden’s son – as the jockey, Camelot is definitely the one to beat. Considering the performance in the first two legs of the Triple Crown, you can see why bookies are offering 1/3 for the win.
The dominance that is expected from Camelot is then highlighted further when you note that the next horse in the betting list is Main Sequence at 7/1. The David Lanigan trained horse has been given the go ahead to compete and everyone behind this rapidly improving horse has Camelot in their sights.
Following an impressive victory at the Great Voltigeur Stakes – seen as a trial for the St Leger – Thought Worthy is another major contender and is available at 8/1.
