Manchester United Boss Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Darren Fletcher is ready to make a return to senior duties and is in contention to face Arsenal in Sunday’s Premier League fixture.
The Scotsman played a full game for United’s Reserves on Thursday evening, leading them to victory over Swansea, and Fergie has said in his pre-match press conference that that Fletcher is ready to return to the first time.
“On the injury front, Darren Fletcher played a game last night which is great news,” he said. “I think the boy is back now. He’s had a terrible time but now he’s looking terrific and he’ll be in the squad for Sunday.”
Rio Ferdinand and Antonio Valencia are set to return for the Arsenal game, whilst the Red Devils are still missing Nemanja Vidic who is out for a month and Rafael who is set for a long spell on the sidelines with his dislocated shoulder.
