Sources are suggesting that speculation may eventually prove true, and Steve McClaren’s tenure ate Nottingham Forest could soon come to an end.
It’s suspected that the manager has fallen out with the boardroom staff at the City Ground, largely chalked up to a lack of transfer funds, which were supposedly promised to McClaren.
McClaren was striving for a return to the Premier League after Forest reached the Championship play-off semi-finals last season, and has said: “When you lose nine players and replace them with five, you will be short. But we need players who can make a difference and the kind of quality we are after is sometimes not available or there can be other reasons why we cannot get them.”
The ex-Middlesborough and England boss has barely been at the helm of the Reds for four months, but his tumultuous time with the Championship side looks set to end soon.
