Stoke agree fee for striker

It is understood that Stoke have agreed a fee with Birmingham to sign striker Cameron Jerome.

The 25-year-old forward has been linked with a move away from St Andrew’s all summer, and has made just one substitute appearance this season for the Championship club. However he was a regular last term when the club was in the Premier League, scoring five goals.

Stoke have also been linked with a double swoop from Tottenham as they attempt to seal deals for striker Peter Crouch and midfielder Wilson Palacios. They are also believed to be tracking Arsenal forward Nicklas Bendtner with talks thought to be underway, but a move for Jerome is set to end interest for either Bendtner or Crouch.

Jerome is expected to be on his way to the Britannia Stadium to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms.
