Stoke City enter race to sign West Ham talisman

Stoke City are understood to be interested in signing West Ham midfielder, Scott Parker.

The Hammers captain is already being courted by Tottenham and Chelsea, but after news emerged last week that Parker would be choosing to stay at Upton Park this season, potential suitors were put off of a move.

However, Tony Pulis is ready to take advantage of the situation and make an £8m bid for the 30 year-old.

Parker was always thought to leave the East London outfit this summer, after their relegation prompted worries that Parker £60,000-a-week salary would be too expensive to cope with.

However, that looks to have turned around with Sam Allardyce keen on the club earning a return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Stoke have had a hard time making big signings in the past, as the club refuse to budge on their wage structure, where Kenwyne Jones is reportedly their highest paid asset, but that could change with the arrival of Parker.
