Stoke City offer contract to Newcastle rebel
Stoke boss, Tony Pulis, is ready to offer Joey Barton a £60,000 -a-week contract after the midfielder was transfer listed to leave the club for free.
The Potters will be playing European football next year, a very enticing offer in Barton’s efforts to make it into Fabio Capello’s England setup.
Welshman Pulis is keen to bring Barton to the Brittania Stadium swiftly, and would like to see him play in their game against Chelsea on Sunday.
The 28 year-old’s agent is understood to be in talks with the Stoke manager as well as a number of top Premier League sides.
