Stoke City will go back for West Ham striker with improved bid of £4m

Stoke City are ready to go back to West Ham United with an improved bid of £4m for striker Carlton Cole for which Sam Allardyce’s side had already rejected an initial offer of £3m for.

Pulis is keen to add British players to his squad as they look to make a push up the Premiership table with Carlton Cole one of the players at the top of the manager’s wish list. However, West Ham manager Allardyce is keen to keep hold of as many of his players as possible despite relegation last season to the Championship and he expects some will stay despite interest from Premiership sides.

Stoke City though feel that an increased offer of £4m should be enough to tempt the Championship side into selling and West Ham will be prepared to allow Stoke to talk to the player should they improve their initial bid within the next few days.
