Reports have suggested that advanced talks are in progress between Stoke and Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios over a move to the Britannia Stadium.
Speculation had linked Palacios with a move to the Potters in recent weeks and manager Tony Pulis has not kept it a secret that he is eager to bring the powerhouse and other players in before the transfer window closes on Wednesday night.
However he has also revealed that he is not interested in “breaking the bank” to bring players in as Stoke have gained a good reputation of how to maintain a football club, but they are in need of strengthen for the Europa League.
It is suggested that whilst Pulis carries on his pursuit of Palacios, Stoke are also interested in the midfielder’s team mate, Peter Crouch. The deal for the Honduras international is thought to be close to completion, as talks are believed to be in advanced stages.
Palacios has proven himself as a player that can handle the Premier League, enjoying good spells with Birmingham, Wigan and most recently Tottenham. Despite an impressive past, Harry Redknapp looks set to allow the midfielder to move as he has slipped down the pecking order.
