Stoke Swansea Odds : Value looks on Brendan Rogers side with big price in betting

Stoke City will be hoping to end a run of four Premier League defeats when they host Swansea City at the Britannia Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with Brendan Rogers side looking a touch of value at 13/5.

The Potters have perhaps been distracted by Europa League exploits in recent weeks – they lost 2-0 on aggregate to Spanish Giants Valencia  in the last week or so – and this has led to a slide down the league.

It wasn’t too long ago that Stoke were comfortably in 8th position of course, but going into this weekend they are down in 13th position after the disappointing run of defeats.

They are still nine points above the relegation zone though, so they will look to prove to people that their form in the last few weeks has been a blip and nothing more. It is certainly not a run they will want to continue.

This means they would love to recreate the performance that saw them beat Tottenham back in November, their last home victory in the league. Then, they can perhaps go on a more positive run to get themselves back in the top half of the table.

Swansea City will be hoping to respond to a defeat themselves though. Last time out in the league, they suffered a 3-2 loss at home to Norwich City, only their second defeat at the Liberty Stadium this season.

There is no need for Brendan Rogers’ men to panic after this result though and after a two week break, they will be fresh and raring to go again this weekend. They secured a victory in their last away game too and have actually won two of their last three games on the road.

Looking at the team news for this clash between two teams on 30 Premier League points, Stoke City are likely to bring in several key players after they were rested during the week. This includes Peter Crouch, Jon Walters and Matthew Etherington. Robert Huth is still suspended though.

For Swansea, they are set to welcome back midfielder Joe Allen, although Kemy Agustien and Andrea Orlandi are both doubtful.

When these two teams met earlier in the season, Swansea managed a 2-0 victory and there is no doubt that revenge will be on the minds of Stoke City from 3pm on Sunday afternoon.
