The Strictly Come Dancing live shows have begun begin over on BBC One, as Paddy Power offer a free bet on the outright winner betting as Kimberley Walsh, Fern Britton, Victoria Pendleton, Nicky Byrne Denise Van Outen and Louis Smith attract the most attention from punters.
With Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly hosting the incredibly popular dancing show, there is a great line-up of celebrities taking part. Having undergone three weeks training with their professional dance partner, this weekend is where their epic journey begins.
Entertainment is of course the main aim, but everyone taking part devotes the next couple of months to this show and the strain can be evident. The training is brutal, the routines are difficult and the execution has celebrities nervous every single weekend.

Who are the main contenders for success in the 2012 Strictly Come Dancing though? Well, the favourite is Olympic gymnast Louis Smith. He seems naturally suited to the show and appears to have an air of confidence about him, especially after all the support received at London 2012.
Another major contender is Denise Van Outen. A woman of many talents, the Essex girl is expected to go far this year. She is definitely focused and has impressed many in training so far.
Girls Aloud star Kimberly Walsh is another contestant expected to go far, while Victoria Pendleton – another Olympic hero, alongside Smith – has the determination and physique to be one to watch.
Westlife’s Nicky Byrne is the biggest challenger to Smith in terms of the men before you come to more of an outside bet to go all the way. The ones mentioned so far are definitely the favourites.
It is all about entertainment value though and this should come in abundance from the likes of Johnny Ball, Richard Arnold, Jerry Hall and Lisa Riley. There could be a surprise star amongst them too of course.
Then, for cricketer Michael Vaughan and Eastenders actor Sid Owen – as well as a few others – it really is difficult to know what to expect. That is what makes this show so fascinating.
So bring on the laughter, the tears and the dancing!
