Reports have emerged from Italy that Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is being lined up by Juventus in a £30 million deal.
The Italian giants are about to lose their legendary striker Alessandro Del Piero and see Suarez as the perfect replacement.
The Liverpool star will return from an eight-game ban on Monday against Tottenham after being found guilty of racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra at Anfield in October.
Thus far he has gained support from his current club, who even wore specially made Suarez T-shirt’s while the case was pending, but the Liverpool board are considering selling the controversial Uruguayan as they feel their reputation on the world stage has been tarnished by the guilty verdict handed out to Suarez.
The player himself also has been hugely affected by the case and reportedly fears for his safety as he is likely to have to run the gauntlet of abuse at nearly every single ground he visits for Liverpool in the foreseeable future. A trip to Old Trafford awaits him next month, where he is likely to face some special treatment from the home fans.
He also recently became a father and is worried that his family could be a target of a hate campaign by anti-racism groups.
Therefore a move from Liverpool could be a plausible option for the player, who has been, on the pitch anyway, a shining light in what has been a rather inconsistent season for Kenny Dalglish’s men.
The skilful Reds striker has only scored five goals this season but has terrorized defences into submission with his dogged attitude and cute build up play.
