“Sufficient Evidence” found to convict Chelsea’s John Terry

Terry will appear in a London courtChelsea and England captain John Terry will be charged with racial abuse according to chief crown Prosecutor Alison Saunders after it emerged she was satisfied with the evidence gathered.

John Terry will appear before West London magistrates court on February 1st, after a comment he made to Queens Park Rangers player Anton Ferdinand their fixture in October.

Saunders said:

“After careful consideration of all the evidence, I am satisfied there is sufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction and it is in the public interest to prosecute this case,”

With Luiz Suarez having just been banned for 8 matches it is likely that the same punishment will be issued to John Terry if found guilty and his England captaincy will obviously be under major threat.
