Chris Hughton’s men have also managed to win their last three Premier League games on home soil and have not conceded a goal in doing so as they make slow progress away from the relegation zone to the relative safety of mid-table.
It seems as though the Canaries are priding themselves on being tough to beat and then relying on the likes of Grant Holt, Wes Hoolahan and Anthony Pilkington creating chances going forward.
As for Sunderland, they come into this one on the back of a 4-2 defeat and 0-0 draw on home soil, so confidence is not exactly sky high right now.
However, Martin O’Neill’s side were 3-1 winners at Fulham in their last away match, something that the Northern Irishman is sure to be reminding them about, but they travel to Carrow Road without Lee Cattermole, who suffered limped off injured in the midweek draw with QPR.
This may not be most eagerly anticipated Super Sunday of the season, but with plenty at stake, it could be an entertaining 90 minutes.
John Ruddy may be missing in goal for the Canaries through injury but that does not put us of backing them to win at 6/4.
There is then a Monday Night Football fixture to look forward to and it sees Wigan Athletic make the journey to the North East to take on Newcastle United.
The Magpies are really struggling this season and have now lost four games in a row in the Premier League, form that has put them down 14th in the league and just two points clear of the relegation zone.
With this being a home match against a team around them, Newcastle know they must win here and Alan Pardew will call upon the fans to make an electric atmosphere inside St James’ Park. Much will depend on whether captain Fabricio Collocini can regain this form of earlier in the season, and galvanize the side.
The misfiring Demba Ba & Papiss Cisse will also need to find their scoring boots if the Toon are to stop the rot.
Wigan are not in the best of form either though and have lost three out of their last four encounters, and it is for this reason that we have to back Alan Pardew’s to find their feet once more at 11/10.
They currently sit level on points with their opponents and know that although they are the underdogs, they need a result here.
These two matches are sure to both be very interesting games that could have a big say on the relegation battle this season.
