Sunderland agree to sell midfield veteran
Sources suggest that Steve Bruce has agreed to sell Steed Malbranque to St. Etienne in a move that could mean more summer spending for the Black Cats.
The former Tottenham and Fulham star is set for the return to France, after leaving Lyon, where he began his professional career and left for England in 2001.
The 31 year-old has been a valuable character under Bruce, despite only scoring one goal for the Wearsiders, providing goal assistance and an experienced mind in the dressing room.
Steve Bruce’s next transfer move is expected to be for the loan signature of Manchester City winger, Adam Johnson, who is also wanted by Everton.
