Sunderland considering move for West Ham striker

Reports suggest that Sunderland manager, Steve Bruce, is pondering a cut-price offer for West Ham frontman, Frederic Piquionne.

West Ham have become subject to much transfer speculation this summer following their relegation to the Championship at the end of last season.

The 32 year-old is apparently keen to rejoin England’s top flight and Bruce can offer just that, as he looks to improve his squad further, despite the heavy amount of transfer activity the Black Cats have already had.

Piquionne would bring a touch of experience to a Sunderland attack that has seen the departure of former loanee, Danny Welbeck, and last campaign experienced a number of injuries to forwards Asamoah Gyan and Frazier Campbell.

Sunderland acquired the services of 17 year-old Conor Wickham earlier this summer but Piquionne would bring with him the advantage of Premier League experience.
