Sunderland look to Spanish youngster as possible Henderson replacement

Jordan or the untested Molina for Sunderland?Sunderland are keeping a close eye on the developments of 19 year old Espanyol midfielder Manu Molina as a possible long term replacement should Jordan Henderson be on the move this summer. The 20 year old Englishman had been linked with a possible move away to Chelsea towards the end of 2010 but nothing materialised suggesting something could be afoot during the next transfer window.

Should any arrangement be made for Henderson then Sunderland will move quickly to acquire the services of Molina, who despite being a few inches shorter and not as experienced as Henderson at this stage, would still make a decent play making replacement for the future.

Molina has made only 7 appearance in La Liga this season with 6 of them as a substitution and his value is thought to be around £250,000. Should any sale of Henderson go through however, Sunderland will be left with much more than Molina’s value alone and would be in a position to look at other young talent across Europe.
