Sunderland and QPR lock horns at 7.45PM and it is of course Harry Redknapp’s first game in charge of Rangers, so he will be looking to get off to a flyer with a win in the North East.

The Black Cats are struggling at the moment and went down 4-2 at home to West Bromwich Albion last time out, which has left some doubts over Martin O’Neil’s future at the club.
O’Neil will be desperate for a win in this one and knows that matches against teams near the bottom are where they need to pick up points, as most firms make his side around 6/4 to pick up maximum points.
One highlight is the return to some sort of form of Stephane Sessegnon, who was inspirational in the Black Cats success of last season, and he has bagged two in two.
QPR are still searching for that all important first win in the top flight and although the Stadium of Light can be a tough place to go to – Redknapp is sure to be confident of his new side taking the spoils.
The former Tottenham man is already to make big changes at Loftus Road as he will also bring in his backroom staff of Joe Jordan and Kevin Bond, and there’s no doubt he will be eager for his new side to pick up points as soon as possible.
The ‘Redknapp Factor’ has already kicked in as punters have backed QPR into 2/1 to take the away win, although it shouldn’t be forgotten that QPR have yet to win a game all season – perhaps it is too early to suggest that Redknapp can emulate his success he had at Portsmouth or Spurs.
Villa and Reading then kick-off at 8PM and with both of these teams sitting in the bottom three, this could be a fairly nervy encounter.
Paul Lambert’s men come into this on the back of a goalless draw at home to Arsenal and after no win in three, they need maximum points in this one – especially on their own soil.
Captain and defender Ron Vlaar is struggling with a calf injury, as the Royals look to take advantage of some brittle confidence in the home side, but Lambert can still call on Andrea Weimann and Christian Benteke to fire the Villains to victory at a best price of evens.
Reading have not won away from home this campaign and lost 3-2 at Wigan on Saturday, a result which would have frustrated Brian McDermott as they were leading the match at one point. Their price of 3/1 does look a little on the large side however, and could striker punters a a touch of value, considering Villa’s poor form at the moment.
With both sides lacking confidence and knowing they are likely to be in a relegation battle this season, this is a massive game and whoever can come out on top would move out of the bottom three – there should definitely be goals in this one.
It should be a very interesting evening of action in the English top flight.
