Sunderland stopper looking to reclaim first team spot

Titus Bramble says that he is prepared to capitalise on the departure of Anton Ferdinand and take back his place in Steve Bruce’s starting XI.

The defender fell down the pecking order at the Stadium of Light, losing out to the likes of Wes Brown and Michael Turner.

Now that Ferdinand has completed his move to QPR however, the 30 year-old prefers his chances of making it back into the team now.

Speaking to the Journal Live, Bramble said: “Him leaving will give someone else a chance, and hopefully that’s me.”

He added: “It’s always frustrating to not be playing, no one wants to train hard all week and then not play at the weekend – and I’m no different.”
