Sunderland weighing up move for Tottenham misift

Sunderland manager, Steve Bruce, is apparently looking to gain the services of Tottenham midfielder Niko Kranjcar should he fail in his attempts to land Manchester City’s Craig Bellamy.

The Black Cats boss is keen to take Bellamy to the Stadium of Light on a permanent or loan basis, however it’s thought the former is unlikely given that the speedster is 32 years-old.

Spurs are looking for £10m for their attacking midfielder, a sum which Sunderland are thought unwilling to meet.

However, given his success with loan signings in the past, Bruce could see the Croatian come to the north east side on a temporary basis instead.

The former Portsmouth star has shown great potential in the past, but has seen his progress slowed at White Hart Lane, making only 42 appearances since his arrival in 2009.

The 26 year-old would become Sunderland 11th summer signing as they continue their spending spree.
