Supreme Novices Hurdle Odds Cheltenham Bets

There is no doubt that many are now counting down the days to the 2012 Cheltenham Festival as we bring you the latest odds on the opening race at the Festival, the Supreme Novices Hurdle.

It takes place in March of course so there is a while to wait yet, but every race between now and then can influence betting tips for Cheltenham and now is without doubt the time to start making your selections.

It is important to look at individual races too, including the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle which takes place at 4.40pm on the second day of the Cheltenham Festival, otherwise known as Ladies Day.

This race is a handicap for juveniles aged at four years. It is seen as a significant stage for novices, aiming to improve with every event, to shine.

As a tough hurdle race, it is an occasion where the horses with most jumping potential come into play, showing their maturity and potential to be a star for years to come.

There is no doubt that there is good value in the betting markets for this race too. Looking back on previous years, there was a 40/1 winner in 2006 and a 14/1 winner in 2008. Even last year was a 9/1 winner, so there is value in backing the winner in this race.

It is tough to call though. There are around 20 runners in this event and as it is a handicap, it is a really difficult betting market to narrow down.

With this in mind, it is advised to wait until closer to the event before making your selection to win this race, paying close attention to the Supreme Novices Hurdle on the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival to see who is in form.

Before then though, an each-way bet is advised and as mentioned, backing an outsider can prove the right selection! We can found out if this is the case from 4.40pm on Wednesday 14th March 2012.
