Swansea City have agreed a fee for Middlesborough forward, Leroy Lita, after chasing him and his teammate, Marvin Emnes, for the majority of the summer.
The fee is reported to be in the region of £1.75m and the Welsh side will be holding talks with the player to agree personal terms.
Swansea boss, Brendan Rodgers, is still keen to sign Boro midfielder, Marvin Emnes, but has seen his efforts swatted away so far.
Rodgers is keen to sign young players going into Swansea’s first Premier League season. Speaking to thisissouthwales.co.uk, Rodgers commented: “I think especially in the first year when you go into the Premier League, you need to have quality and you need to have hunger,”
The manager added: “I think the experience will then come later on. The most important thing is having players who are hungry to prove they are good enough for the Premier League.”
Lita trained with Middlesborough yesterday before travelling to South Wales for talks with Swansea. Rodgers is hoping to tie up a deal before the weekend.
