Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has praised manager Brendan Rodgers for taking the Welsh side into the Premier League and has admitted there are “no worries” about joining England’s elite.
Swansea qualified for the Premier League in a superb match against Reading FC on Monday winning 4-2 meaning they join Norwich City and QPR in the Premiership next season.
Jenkins, who was talking to Sky Sports said.
“It’s hard to believe. We’ll probably be travelling home tonight and we’ll have to pinch ourselves just to get back to reality, “(Rodgers) has been fantastic and his personality has lifted the club. We brought new players in and to be fair we couldn’t have asked for any more this season. He’s a fantastic manager and we’re lucky we’ve got him.”
Regarding next season Jenkins is adamant that the club will do all they can against the best England has to offer.
“Going back two years people thought we had a massive task going into the Championship. But I think we proved over the years that we’ve got a lot to offer and I’ve no worries of next year going in and testing ourselves against the best. We’re going to give it everything we’ve got.”
