Swansea City complete Routledge signing

Swansea City can confirm that they have signed former Newcastle midfielder, Wayne Routledge, on a three-year deal.

Routledge spent the majority of last season on loan at QPR, where he helped Neil Warnock and his men reach the Championship title.

The 26 year-old has agreed personal terms with the Swans and after undergoing a medical, will pen a three-year contract at the Liberty Stadium.

The winger will become Swansea’s fourth signing of the summer, with Leroy Lita expected to wrap up his £1.75m switch in the immediate future.

A statement on the club’s website read: “Swansea City is pleased to confirm that personal terms with Newcastle winger, Wayne Routledge have been agreed this afternoon,”

It went on to note: “The former England Under-21 international will be joined by Middlesbrough striker, Leroy Lita, who is also due to have a medical before completing his transfer.”

Both attackers could be ready to play in the Welsh club’s pre-season friendly against Celtic on Wednesday.
